Two Chairs To Love

Here are two of my favorite chairs in the showroom. These are the "Howard" chairs. They are covered in Celia Birtwell "Howard" pattern fabric. It is a cotton fabric that is both beautiful and comfortable. I love sitting in these chairs- they just wrap around you and hold you in. If I had room in my car, they would be coming back with me to Omaha.

Something cute...

Here is one of my favorite things that the showroom has... a JUMBO whistle! How cute. It was handmade and is such a great statement piece. It even has a little chain on the end of it. LOVE IT!
Another great thing about the whistle is that it is originally $700, but right now is only $500

Week Two Summary

So, last week was my second week as the intern. This week I worked a lot on preparing for the sale the Showroom is having for the next few weeks. My main task this week was to prepare an ad in Photoshop to email to clients to notify them about the sale. I actually am really pleased with how the ad turned out.

Another fun thing about week two is that Suzan took me to one of her current client's home. It is a loft in LA that is really beautiful. This design job is nearly finished, so it was really nice to see how it has turned out.

Finally, another big part of last week was working on my blog. Since I was able to attend both the Boffi and Catherine Malandrino parties, I had a lot to post. I really enjoy the blogging, so I know that there will be posts regularly throughout my summer.

The Catherine Malandrino Maison

In addition to the Boffi Showroom party last night, I was able to attend the Catherine Malandrino Store Party. It was hosted by Merle Ginsberg and Fashionrules.com. Lets just say that this kind of store does not exist in Omaha. I mean, we do not have stores that have their own mini-cafe inside of them. Also, our stores do not serve you champange when you are shopping. It was really amazing to see what really great clothing design is.

As an interior design student, I really noticed all of the lighting that this store has. They do a really great job showcasing their spectacular clothing.

Now if only I could afford to wear all of it......

Boffi Showroom Party

So, my first real LA event was last night! I went to the Boffi Showroom Party. Boffi has amazing high end kitchen and bathroom collections. I really loved the stainless steel countertops that were paired with really sleek white cabinetry. My favorite of all was the bathtub in the showroom. Simply put- it just looks cool!

I wish this was my bathtub...

The open bar was lovely :)

The sleek white kitchens were really amazing.

Ok, trying figure out facebook. This should not be that difficult-right? I am attempting to make a business page so we can have "fans" of the showroom. I really want to figure it out because I am pretty sure it is giving me a headache.

Week One Summary

Today is the last day of my first week here in the Suzan Fellman Showroom. The week has gone really fast, which surprised me, because whenever I start a new job, it never goes fast. Ever.
So I guess this is a good sign that my time has gone by pretty fast.

So, this week's recap:

Monday: organized the really small back office area. For such a small space, there really was a lot to go through.

Tuesday: I started on adding information to the web page files. We are re-vamping our website, so my task was to find images in the photo gallery on the store's computer and put them in the correct file. This sounds a lot easier than it really is. First off, in order to do it correctly, you should probably know what images are what. Also, another challenge that really was frustrating to me, is my utter lack of knowledge of how to use a Mac. Really, you would not think it would be so hard to go from PC to Mac.

Wednesday: I still worked on the web page. Also, the concept of this blog you are reading and the face book page for the showroom began to develop.

Thursday: So, I made a face book page, which I never thought I would do. Also, I currently have one friend. Kinda sad, but I know (hopefully) I will get more friends for my page. Actually, it is the showroom's page, but still.

Friday: Currently blogging in the back office. It is really warm in LA today. I guess this weather is pretty typical- about 79 degrees, sunny and warm. No complaints. Wonder what the weather in Omaha is like. Today is the day the web page guy is coming to the showroom. He is coming here to get all of the information that has been complied. I think that we have enough info, I am really curious how he is going to put the page together. I am really excited to see how it looks as a finished product.
